On Saturday 19 May, to coincide with the ICFF, Moroso's New York showroom will be at the heart of the company's 60th anniversary celebrations. After the Milan International Furniture Show, this is the second leg of a journey lasting a whole year, the time Moroso has decided to take to celebrate and relive its history through a series of events aimed at showcasing Moroso, its philosophy and creative spirit.
Metamorphosis therefore continues to be the theme of this journey in which transformation, in the broadest sense, takes the leading role.
As a further sign of Moroso's continuing, vibrant creativity, the New York event will also serve as the occasion to present Chandigarh, a new design by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien to pay homage to Le Corbousier, who in 1951 was commissioned to design the new capital of the Punjab, which is called Chandigarh. Today, the Anglo-Indian duo again draws inspiration from the design principles underpinning Le Corbousier's work and presents a sofa and armchair made of a very few, simple, clean elements. A new stage in the metamorphosis.
Presented at the 2012 Milan fair, Gentry and the new designs in the Diesel Collection will of course be showcased in New York, too.
